Promoting Sustainable Development through education (FNE)
The University of Bern supports projects that strengthen sustainability‑related learning processes through its Funding Scheme for Sustainable Development through Education (FNE).
The programme promotes creative educational formats – ranging from courses, conferences, workshops and exhibitions to real‑world laboratories or podcasts – that make sustainable development tangible and foster competencies for societal transformation.
The target group consists of lecturers and mid‑level academic staff at the University of Bern who wish to implement their own educational projects. Funding is provided in the form of personnel points or material resources to create time for conceptualisation, implementation and evaluation.
FNE is linked to the Engaged UniBE initiative and thereby supports the goal of further developing transdisciplinary education together with societal partners.
🗓 Submission deadline: 31 August 2026
